Summertime and the living is...........

Summertime and the living is, if not easy, been fairly busy with things rather than blogging....I can't believe it is almost two months since I pounded on the keyboard!!
We have had visitors and been busy in the garden, weather permitting, and I have managed a stitch or two in between.
Another fun workshop at Greenwater Studios had us doing a M.O.G.O.F ( Make on get one free!!) A vinyll outer bag and a fabric inner one....great fun, but I have to confess to re-doing the outer one when I got home as I really had made a pig's ear of the applique motif. As an aside I wonder where that expression "pig's ear" to mean make a mess of comes from......m.m.m. food for thought!! Our teacher Trish is a great communicator and gave us lots of tips.
Another great quilty day at an area day in Paisley with Paisley patchers and the Glasgow Gathering of quilters with an American theme...again good fun!

My Baltimore blocks are progressing slowly.......so much for doing one a month.....seems to have stretched to one every 6 weeks.I am enjoying doing it but get slightly side-tracked to try other things. Last months Calendar quiltlette was Bargello and August's is half square triangles, I have the squares cut out and will get it done this week. The Computer is having hissy fits on boot-up so it is off this evening for, I hope, some TLC if not surgery, so I should have more quilting time!

I have also had a go at a pattern by Jenni Rayment on her new website http://www.justhands-on.tv/ The UK's first on-line TV website devoted to patchwork, quilting and mixed media textile arts.

Next weekend it is the Ayr Flower Show time again, so we are looking forward to going and hoping for a good day weatherwise.

Off now to try and dismantle this computer.....hope I can get it back soon and get it set-up properly........;-(
