Dyeing to have fun and other things

Part of yesterday afternoon was spent dyeing in the garage, primarily to dye some thickish crochet cotton for a fishing net to incorporate into one of the Church banners, but as I had the dyes etc out I dyed a couple of pieces of PFD fabric I recently bought from eQuilter. This fabric is lovely for dyeing. I will probably do one of Ricky Timms convergence type quilts with this.

This morning has been fun as the second lesson in the QU course was posted. It really is truly amazing what can be done to various fabrics and stuff with a heat gun or iron or wood burning tool! Painted and glittered cellophane heated with a hot iron ( between two pieces of parchment paper) does amazing things-------goes all like sea foam! We are also using Angelina fibres as well as heating organdy with a heat gun. I know pictures would be fun but I tried and it does not seem to photograph well as I don't seem to be able to get the lovely sheen that has appeared on the waves to show up with the camera.

Hello Elma, Thank you for your comments on my blog. I'll try and give you photos and how to's for the discharge paste in the next few days. BTW I like your waves!
